1976 Classmates at 60+: Celebrating Friendship at Our Classmate Usman’s Son’s Wedding
📸 Moments from the
Celebration
As we gracefully cross the
milestone of sixty years, life seems to offer us a new perspective—one that
values relationships, memories, and shared joy more than ever before. Many
among us have already celebrated the weddings of our children and even grandchildren.
Now, each invitation we receive is not just for a function, but a reminder of
enduring friendships and the passage of time.
🤝 A Question We Often Ask
How many of these joyous
occasions can we attend?
With advancing age, minor
ailments and personal commitments sometimes keep our dear friends confined to
their homes. Yet, every gathering we manage to attend becomes all the more
meaningful.
🎉 A Memorable Occasion
Today, a few of us—
(Shreemathi Y and her husband Suresh Mayya, Seetharama Shetty, Umashankar and his wife Vinaya Prabha, Narasimha Shetty and his wife Suchitha)—
had the privilege of attending
the wedding (Nikah) of Shifan, son of our dear friend Usman of Haikady.
The event was held at Devaki Convention Centre, Heroor, and it was nothing short of a grand and graceful celebration.
🌙 A Glimpse into Islamic
Wedding Traditions
The ceremony beautifully reflected Islamic customs and traditions. The stage was elegantly decorated with floral arrangements and soft lighting, creating a serene and festive ambience.
The Nikah proceedings were conducted with simplicity and dignity, emphasizing the spiritual essence of marriage. It was a wonderful opportunity for many of us to witness and appreciate the richness of a different cultural tradition.
🍽️ A Feast to Remember
The lunch served after the
ceremony was truly grand. The hospitality extended by Usman and his family was
warm and heartfelt. Every detail—from seating arrangements to food—was
thoughtfully managed.
📷 Capturing Memories
Usman was delighted to meet all
of us and happily posed for photographs. These moments of togetherness were
captured beautifully, reminding us once again of the strong bonds we share.
Meanwhile, the ladies’ wing of our classmates gathered separately, as per custom, and enjoyed their own time together. They captured lovely moments, especially of the younger girls, adding another layer of joy to the occasion.
🌆 Looking Ahead
As per the invitation, many more
guests are expected to attend the Dawat-e-Walima (Reception) tomorrow
evening. We hope more of our classmates will be able to join and continue the
celebrations.
❤️ Reflections
Events like these are not just
about ceremonies—they are about reconnecting, reliving memories, and
celebrating life together.
At this stage in our lives, every such gathering becomes precious. It reminds us that while time moves forward, friendships remain timeless.
🙏 With Warm Regards
Let us continue to cherish these moments and make an effort to attend as many such occasions as possible—because in the end, it is these shared experiences that enrich our lives.
